Marquesas Islands, standing Tiki figure, ca. 1900. free-carved arms, hands touching the torso, a shell pectoral attached to the neck. Based on the wear and tear that has occured over time we can conclude this figure must have been made somewhere at the end of the 19th century. This statue was bought from Mathias Lemaire in 1976. Unfortunatly we were unable to find where the seller obtained this statue. H. 79,5 cm. Provenance: Fred Smit, Haarlem; M.L.J. Lemaire, Amsterdam, 1976 [1]
